Wegdromen met de mandarijnen ING cultuurcentrum De tentoonstelling "De drie dromen van de mandarijn" loopt tot 14 februari 2010 in het ING Cultuurcentrum, Kunstberg, Koningsplein 6 te 1000 Brussel.   ING biedt de leden van Openbaar Kunstbezit Vlaanderen bij de online aankoop van één ticket een tweede gratis aan. THEMA: Regionale schilderscholen Van de kust tot de Kempen In Vlaanderen was de kunstactiviteit in de 19de en 20ste eeuw zodanig groot dat men dit kleine gebied gemakkelijk kan opdelen in "scholen"  die elk hun eigen wortels en ontwikkeling hebben. Er waren de kunstenaarsdorpen waar kunstenaars zich verzamelden en zo het creatieve proces in een bepaalde richting stuurden. Maar ook daarbuiten was er een betekenisvolle artistieke bedrijvigheid. De schilders van de kust, van Leie en Schelde, van Kortrijk tot het Zoniënwoud zijn slechts enkele van de vele scholen uit de negentiende en twintigste eeuw die onder de aandacht worden gebracht. auteur: Joost De Geest Leo Dohmen Een piraat in het klooster In het fotografiemuseum van Charleroi loopt een tentoonstelling over de Antwerpse fotograaf Leo Domen. Hij was een vrijbuiter, een piraat die de surrealistische fotografie met een aantal opmerkelijke iconen verrijkte. Met enkele minimale ingrepen creëerde hij sterke visuele prikkels die ons vastgeroest waarnemingspatroon geheel in de war brengen. Een meisje met een zebrahuid, een readymade als mond of een brandende kaars als flitslamp van een camera zijn daar slechts enkele voorbeelden van.   auteur: Rik Sauwen   www.museephoto.be De installaties van Lieve Van Stappen Levende herinnering Lieve Van Stappes installaties zijn vaak een hommage aan al het kwetsbare in onze samenleving. De veelal anonieme slachtoffers van geweld en agressie, vrouwen en kinderen, en ook de herinnering spelen een belangrijke rol in haar werk. Haar fragiele beelden van onder andere glazen doopkleedjes, voorzichtig omwonden pilaren en glazen hersenen roepen een verstilde wereld op die draait rondom het levend houden van de herinnering.   auteur: Daan Rau www.brugge.be www.museumdrguislain.be www.mac-s.be Europalia in het MSK Gent Masereel en China In kader van Europalia China zet het MSK Gent de invloed van Frans Masereel op de avant-gardegrafiek van het revolutionaire China in de kijker voor de periode 1919-1949. Het was een bewogen tijd in China, met de Japanse bezetting en de burgeroorlog die eindigde met de overwinning van Mao. Lu Xun, de gangmaker van de linkse, revolutionaire kunst in China verzamelde Europese grafiek en zorgde ervoor dat heel wat jonge Chinese kunstenaars het werk van onder andere Masereel leerden kennen. auteur: Joost De Geest   www.mskgent.be   Klatergoud en zilveren bellen Een verzameling rammelaars Dit najaar is het al Klatergoud en zilveren bellen wat blinkt in het Zilvermuseum Sterckshof. Klatergoud mag vandaag dan een minder waardevol beeld oproepen, vroeger was een gouden klater in babyhandjes de trots van de familie. Oude teksten laten geen enkele twijfel bestaan over de kostbaarheid van deze kleinoden. Achter de schitterende rammelaars schuilt echter meer dan enkel rinkelend speelgoed, zo boden ze bijvoorbeeld ook beschermende krachten en weerspiegelden ze de familiale status van de eigenaar. auteur: Ko Goubert   www.zilvermuseum.be   Museum für Zeitgenössische Kunst Eupen Baken voor de Duitstalige Gemeenschap In 1993 werd in het provinciestadje Eupen met de hulp van een groep kunstliefhebbers het IKOB museum opgericht door Francis Feidler. Naast het samenstellen van een vaste collectie hedendaagse kunst, stelde het museum zich tot doel regelmatig betekenisvolle tentoonstellingen te organiseren om zo het eigen publiek voor hedendaagse kunst te sensibiliseren en op de hoogte te houden van wat er reilt en zeilt in de kunstwereld. Het resultaat is een museum dat een niet onbelangrijke rol speelt voor de Duitstalige gemeenschap en ook daarbuiten. auteur: Daan Rau www.ikob.be Webstek Euromuse De Europese integratie is ook op het internet in volle ontwikkeling. Met de steun van eNET, een initiatief van de Europese Commissie en van het Netwerk van Europese Museumorganisaties werd Euromuse in het leven geroepen. Euromuse is de portaalsite voor de belangrijkste tentoonstellingen in Europese musea. Openbaar Kunstbezit in Vlaanderen werd geselecteerd om het Belgische luik van dit project te sturen. Binnenkort zullen dus ook de belangrijkste tentoonstellingen die in ons land plaats vinden op de site worden aangekondigd. www.euromuse.net Boekbespreking: Bouwen aan wederopbouw 1914/2050 Architectuur in de Westhoek Na de verwoestingen die de Grote Oorlog aanbracht aan de dorpen en steden in de Westhoek begon men in 1918 aan de wederopbouw van de streek. Negentig jaar later rijzen er voor deze architectuur problemen van hergebruik en afbraak. Hoe kan je dorpen, straten en woningen aanpassen aan de hedendaagse noden, zonder de waardevolle en unieke homogeniteit van het geheel te schaden? Dat is het uitgangspunt van het boek Bouwen aan wederopbouw 1914/2050. Architectuur in de Westhoek. auteur: Mark Vanvaeck Nieuwe Erfgoedgids in samenwerking met de provincie Antwerpen Tussen Antwerpen en Heide Joods Cultuurleven in een bewogen tijd (1880-1944)     In deze erfgoedgids behandelt auteur Lieven Saerens voor de eer- ste maal de rol van de Antwerpse joden in het culturele leven van de provincie Antwerpen tussen 1880 en 1944.     Abonnees kunnen de erfgoedgids bestellen door storting van 10 euro op rekeningnummer 448-0007361-87 met vermelding 'Erfgoedgids Joods Erfgoed'. Niet abonnees storten 13.5 euro voor het boek plus de verzendingskosten.     Wegdromen met de mandarijnen Zin om China eens op een andere manier te ontdekken? Bijvoorbeeld via de dromen, die alomtegenwoordig zijn in de Chinese kunst en literatuur, en zo kennis te maken met de artistieke en intellectuele wereld van de mandarijnen van de 16de tot de 18de eeuw. De mandarijnen bestuurden het keizerrijk en behoorden tot een gecultiveerde elite, de « literaten » genaamd. In het kader van het festival « europalia.china » organiseert ING een tentoonstelling rond de voorwerpen die deze literaten dierbaar zijn, zowel deze die zij dagelijks gebruiken (penselen, inktstenen, inktstaven,...) als deze die zij verzamelen (voorwerpen in brons en jade, keramiek, schilderijen en kalligrafie).   De tentoonstelling "De drie dromen van de mandarijn" loopt tot 14 februari 2010 in het ING Cultuurcentrum, Kunstberg, Koningsplein 6 te 1000 Brussel. www.ing.be     Deze e-mail werd verstuurd naar serge.verwest@pandora.be.
