THE NEW SAATCHI GALLERY FOR ONLINE ARTISTS
When the new Saatchi Gallery opens in early October at the Duke of York HQ building in Chelsea, London there will be a gallery devoted to artists selected from Saatchi Online.
Winners of Showdown will be exhibited alongside artists selected from all parts of the site where their work and profiles are entered.
All sales will be on a no commission basis charged to either buyer or artist.
During the year artists will be selected by our guest critics for rotating exhibitions.
We will contact you with more news about the first round of exhibitions in the coming month.
SAATCHI ONLINE TV - RELAUNCHED
The new updated Saatchi Online TV is now live and features videos of art openings around the world, interviews with artists in their studios, videos about artists, clips from artists' videos and films of art performances. You can also upload your own videos onto Saatchi Online TV and publish your own reviews of movies.
Up this week on Saatchi Online TV are: a visit with Louise Bourgeois in her Manhattan house and studio, a tour of some of the most interesting hidden art works in New York, an interview with Matthew Barney about his film 'Drawing Restraint 9', starring his wife Bjork, and a tour of German artist Jonathan Meese's latest exhibition.

SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS SELLING AT ART FAIRS IN LONDON, NEW YORK AND BASEL
After the success of Saatchi Online's exhibition at Zoo Art Fair in London in October 2007, we have taken more artists registered on Saatchi Online to art fairs around the world in 2008.
First up in February was FORM, where Saatchi Online hosted a selling exhibition of 20 London-based artists who had been chosen from Saatchi Online magazine's Critic's Choice. They were invited to exhibit at the Saatchi Online stand and all their work sold with no commission charged to either to the artists or collectors. You can read more about Form 08 here .
In March Saatchi Online artists exhibited at Pulse 08 in New York. Artists based in and around New York were invited to exhibit at the Saatchi Online stand and all the work on sale free from commission. In total 31 works were sold with 9 out of the 15 artists whose work was exhibited selling work.
This month 20 Saatchi Online artists based in Europe exhibited at Scope Basel. 25 works were sold at the fair on a non-commission basis and there has been a overwhelming level of interest from collectors, gallerists and dealers. Work was sold by: Lena Sadziak, Maurizio Anzeri, Jaap de Vries, Marco Salvetti, Teiji Hayama, Aleksandra Radonich, Angelika J Trojnarski and Giacomo Brunelli.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FOR SAATCHI ONLINE AND STUART ARTISTS
4 NEW SENSATIONS 2008 - CHANNEL 4 TV SHOW AND EXHIBITION FOR STUART ARTISTS NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES
In collaboration with Channel 4 the second installment of our 4 New Sensations competition has now been confirmed and will open this week. All UK art students graduating from BA and MA courses at UK colleges and universities in 2008 are invited to enter work from their 2008 degree shows via Saatchi Online. The deadline for entries will be Friday 27 June at 6pm.
An exhibition of 20 shortlisted artists chosen by the judges will take place at The Truman Brewery, Brick Lane in London during Frieze Week in October. The four finalists of the competition will be given a £1000 bursary to make a new work to present at the exhibition, and each of these 'New Sensations' will have a 3 Minute Wonder Channel 4 film made about them which will also be aired in October. There will be two winners of the 4 New Sensations 2008 competition. One will be decided upon by a public web vote to be hosted on a bespoke area of SAATCHI ONLINE. The second will be chosen by the panel of judges who will select a winner from the four completed new commissions made by the 4 finalists of the competition. The two winners will each be awarded £3000 as prize money.

SAATCHI ONLINE DIESEL WALL
Diesel has created a competition entitled DIESEL WALL, dedicated to young artists and designers, offering them the opportunity to showcase their work on an extraordinary scale: monumental, freestanding vertical walls in the centres of world's most important cities. Winners will be announced through the website with local events in four cities, while the Manchester installation will be showcased from mid-June onwards.
MAC COMPETITION FOR STUART ARTISTS
Stuart artists have been invited to take part in MAC's the first ever window design competition. With over 100 different store layouts, the design will need to be modular to fit into windows of varying sizes. The winning display will then be manufactured and installed in a minimum of ten flagship and key M·A·C locations worldwide. The winning artist will also recieve prize money amounting to $1,500. SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS SELLING AT ART FAIRS IN LONDON, NEW YORK AND BASEL

In Londen werd vrijdag het controversiële werk gepresenteerd van de gebroeders Chapman. Zij kochten destijds een reeks aquarellen voor 146.470 € van Adolf Hitler.
De moraliteit van deze aankoop deed wel wat stof opwaaien. De Chapmans herwerkten de aquarellen met sterretjes, hartjes en psychedelische regenbogen. De titel” If Hitler Had Been a Hippy How Happy Would We Be” beoogt geenszins dat zij de man weer “Hip” willen maken, maar indien de hel bestaat en hij daar rondloopt hij zich kapot zou ergeren aan hun ingreep. Zij bieden nu het werk aan voor zo’n 872.428 €.
Zij willen met hun ingrepen aan wat het had kunnen worden indien Hitler zijn weg had gevonden in het artistieke.
Het werk zal te zien zijn in het “Madame Tussaud” museum dat volgende maand zijn deuren opent in Berlijn naast een wassen reproductie van de gebroken Hitler in zijn bunker waar hij zijn laatste dagen doorbracht.
